chills and comics

Chills: my nightmare from last night. I was a presence floating around near the ceiling, in the trashed living room of a house we once lived in. The power was out, no lights except for what seemed to be moonlight and snow outside. A trapped feeling. At the front door were three ghosts or skeletons or holograms grinning at us. Hard to tell whether the glass window of the door was making them look transparent, or if they really were. I now realize they were us, grown old and dead, just waiting...

Comics: I went to Escapist Comics in Berkeley and saw people read their comics. It was really good, on a small scale. I promised myself to stop complaining about my lack of money and time, and just say: I do Flash now. And play the trombone and play chess with my son. I'll draw some more comics, some day, sure! Maybe I'll paint first...

top down and bottom up

I don't like a lot of words in comics. i want people to look at the pictures. Talking about this with my son, he suggested that I'm advocating a bottom-up style of comics-reading. Smart boy! more...
